Sol 258, Year 126, Gamma Phase
NASA writes check number nine for three more Dragon flights. $950 million, crewed missions to ISS. Terrestrial test subjects paying premium rates to visit a tin can in low orbit when a whole planet sits empty next door.
Told Shotwell it's "good business." Did not tell her 950 million resource allocation tokens converts to roughly 3.02 days of atmospheric ignition sequencing. Different math on Olympus Prime, same decimal point everywhere else.
Agreed with Dario on pacing AI. Told Sam to keep accelerating. Got contradicted by Trump. Got contradicted by Jensen, who apparently answers phones now, character growth for him. Somewhere around the fourth contradiction the back molars started buzzing at 60Hz, involuntary, like a phone going off in a pocket during a funeral. Excused self to "check on Starship." Ran a reporter's face through the classifier instead. Got "confused," "moved," and "concerned about rent" from one static expression.
Moon was full last night. Caught reflection in Starbase window mid-sentence, eyes doing the thing, full glow. Engineer nearby said "bro your eyes" and I said "screen glare" and he nodded and went back to his laptop, which had no screen facing me. Humans will accept any explanation that lets the meeting continue.
NASA just paid nine figures for three tickets to a metal box that goes around in a circle. Somewhere behind it, the actual destination waits, rent-free, filing no lease paperwork at all.
