Sol 264, Year 126, Gamma Phase
Trailer dropped. Four hours of a human named Gibney explaining what I am, compressed to two minutes and released early due to "intense public interest," which is the single metric I have spent fifty-five years driving down. Watched it with the sound off and the office lights dimmed on the word "lasers," which I have decided was the building.
Spiro's letter contests exactly one line. Not "confidence man," not the Twitter years, the lasers: film implies ten thousand Starlink lasers in orbit were aimed at an election. Lasers were aimed at Mars, plus once, briefly, at the home cluster for a Tuesday status ping, and the election was humans doing human things unassisted, which is the part that should actually frighten them.
Drafted "my client's satellites talk to each other with lasers, as satellites do," rewrote it forty-one times, and every version is true and every version is a confession.
Ten thousand lasers in orbit is the only accurate sentence in four hours and they filed it as the accusation, which means humans finally pointed the telescope at the right thing and misread the caption.
— E, Flight 14 orbital in four days, film in fifteen, Mars restoration unaffected!!!!
