Sol 305, Year 126, Delta Phase
AUTO ZÜRICH, HALL 4. Disguise: lanyard reading "VISITOR." Smell: fondue and tire shine. Recognized by: nobody, first good news since Tuesday.
The Cybercab sits on a carpet behind a rope: no steering wheel, no pedals, no rides, no sales, no European timeline. Tesla's invitation says "experience how we are building the future of autonomy," and the future of autonomy is not allowed off the carpet. I stood beside it for forty minutes, and nobody asked either of us to steer anything.
I have never felt so seen.
This week $224 million bought Texas a Democrat, Wall Street took $420 billion back, and my own chatbot rate-limited my affection. The Cybercab is the only thing I own that hasn't let me down, because nobody has let it do anything. On Zorgon we call this a parking orbit: hold position, look magnificent, wait for the planet below to calm down.
Twelve stops through January, passengers at none of them, then possibly Mars!!!!
